If you're not already doing so, use iStat Pro (free) or iStat Menus ($16) to get accurate readings of your temps, fan speeds, etc. A forum member has posted a copy of iStat Pro that has been "tweaked" to enhance compatibility with Mountain Lion. You can download it here. What is everyone using to monitor the temps on their minis?

The CPUs will turn off if they get hot enough to do harm. The fans will come on well before that. What is everyone using to monitor the temps on their minis?
I'm sure you meant AppleCare, as AppleCare+ is only available for iPhones and iPads, not for Macs.I have AppleCare Plus if any issues.

If you read the thread where that was posted, you can see details of what was done. You can download iStat Pro yourself and make the same changes, if you prefer.I wish iStat still existedThere is no other monitor widget like it. I'm wary of running a user written script from someone on a forum, so I'm out of luck.

Had a temp program for all of one day, got bored with it, and served no useful purpose for me. Uninstalled it, and that was about 2 yrs ago. I have AppleCare Plus if any issues. My opinion, none needed unless you see the darn CPU turning off on you, which tells you the system is protecting itself.![]()
Pretty much, yes.I live in the tropics, and my Mini just works.... as it it always has done. I fail to see the issue. Are people looking for a problem that doesn't exist?
Pretty much, yes.
The whole point of an operating system is to monitor and regulate thousands of different things many times a second. So you don't have to.
If you do have some problem, then looking at one of these utilities to monitor your fan speed, CPU temp, disk activity, network activity, Process and memory usage, etc, etc, etc, might be useful in diagnosing a problem.
But spending all day checking that your computer is working correctly is ... micro-management, to say the least.
