Temp of imac C2D

How do i check the temperature of my imac It seems to be really hot when i'm not really doing much... just browsing MR and have adium open. Are my fans operating as they should be.

I don't know if it's normal for your Intel machine. But, I do know that the fans on the two iMac G5 systems I had previously always stayed at 2500 R.P.M. or higher no matter how little it was doing. So, I would think your fans are likely fine.

As for temperature, which temp / monitoring program are you using? Most have that feature built-in. Here's the one I always liked:
