Hi everyone,

It's my first post here.. Just wondering which one of the two is gonna be better in protecting my apple watch sport's screen against scratches. I currently use a tag heuer which has sapphire coated glass, so I'm less bothered about it being scratched.. The thing I'm worried about it is that the tempered glass would destroy the watch's look.

Tell me what you guys think! :)

Go for glass, usually has better clarity from what I've seen. You definitely don't want to take away from the display quality of that retina display.

I ordered the LUVVITT TPU case which comes with a tempered glass screen protector. Why not protect the casing as well as the screen?

Mine comes with one. It's called Sapphire Crystal.

I've had the same glass face watch for years, still looks good to me, sure maybe a few scratches, but we are talking a decade here and not the 1-3 year lifespan of a tech gadget like this.

I got the sport but definitely NOT putting any protective crud on it, its going to be obsolete by next year..why bother.

I ended up buying http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T41Q1NQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am actually not sure if it is the tempered glass protector or the film type, I think its the tempered glass.

I've used both on my iPhones and I prefer the tempered glass wrt feel and look but I don't like the way they don't go to the edge of the screen because of the curved shape of the screen. I think on a watch it would drive me crazy. But i am giving this one a shot. I needed to order a $5 item to get free freight on the rest of my order so thats why I am a bit casual about it.

If I had ordered the sapphire crystal watch I wouldn't worry about it but i ordered the Sport watch and i don't know how scratch resistant the glass will be. I like keeping my technology perfect so i can resell it as new when i am ready to buy a new product. Of course if it looks like crap i will just take it off.

FWIW, I will not be putting any sort of case on the watch ever, but thats just my choice.

I don't get. Apple comes through with a fantastic display and you want to detract from its perfectness by putting a screen protector over it?

Personally I love the look and feel of my Apple products too much to cover them up in protective gear. The only exception I've made is for my iPhone 6 because the Apple leather case doesn't detract from the experience. All my other Apple products have gone nekked :) And I've still managed to keep them in all in good enough condition to sell to friends or on eBay when I'm ready for the next generation release.

Of course there was that one time my 5s slid across the bar and landed in the bartender's bucket of cleaning solution and rags . . . . but hey, that's what Apple Care is for!

stop hate, make love

Why all the hate guys? If he wants to put a screen protector on his tempered glass, and a case around his case, that's his choice.

What's next? Making fun of his religion and telling him how to live his life b/c your way is the only/right way?? lulz

We all love Apple products here so let's try to just help each other, even if you don't agree with other people's methods/choices.

But on the topic, I would go with tempered glass, and choose a thin one too. Usually Zagg has the thinnest glass I've seen but you'll pay more for it. Alot of times, the cheaper brands off Amazon will be quite thick and that'll be more noticeable on a watch. The glass will yield a much clearer view of the nice screen than a plastic protector.

What I planned on doing was ordering some cheap films off Amazon... (just for now,) and wait a few weeks until Zagg or the like gets on the stick and makes a glass one.

Seriously. What's next? Hanging spare tires on the sides of your car?

Are you seriously telling me that you don't have spare tyres hanging from the outside of your car? Here in Europe we all have to do it thanks to the Brits and their insurance companies.

I wanted protection at the same time look fashionable so I went ahead to get this case that makes the watch look like the edition version of the watch.
