There is a new firmware updater for the Sonnet Tempo card. The software can do 3 things.

• remove the ROM image altogether
• replace the ROM image with the original ( a combined EFI/BIOS image)
• replace the ROM image with a BIOS only image

It seems this updater is just to remove the Mac EFI (or recover it). Not really an upgrade. And it won't fix anything for the Mac Pro (e.g. the boot manager). Am I correct?

From reading the documentation, it sounds like this is only to help resolve booting issues on PCs with EFI motherboards.

This doesn't sound like it'll fix the boot manager on Macs.
