How do i change a read only permission? Yes I am in root.
I have entered the following
sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency=420000000

I then get "is read only" How would I change it so it wont be read only.
I want to speed up my cpu from 412mhz to 420mhz and need to get around the read only. Any help will be greatly appreciated and step by step wold be nice because I am a noob

Changing the CPU clock speed is a very dangerous thing. Apple has underclocked it because of heat constrains. Clocking it higher will make your phone more vulnerable to heat. Also, you could semi-brick your phone.

Also, Terminal won't help you out, as the CPU is Read-only. The hardware on the iPhone is rarely read/write.

Yes. I know it is dangerous. I am working on a way to cool it down faster. I need to know if there is a way around the read only. The Iphone's processor runs at 412 mhz but has the ability to run somewhere around 600. so right now the processor is under clocked and will be perfectly fine at 420 if cooled properly. Also in one of the older firmware updates apple raised the cpu from 400 mhz to 412mhz. So i know there is a way to do it. I only need to know how. Does anyone know of another way to speed it up?
