Hi, my 11 year old son just told me yesterday that he forgot his password on his imac. i don't know why he would have one, but he for got and now i need a way to get it back with out restoring the mac. i heard there is a prompt in terminal to get the password and possibly change it. does anyone know what this procedure would be?

If you have a Mac OS X install dvd you can use that, your iMac should have come with one. Put it in and reboot the iMac while holding C. Then select your language and click the Utilities menu at the top and select reset password.
