Has anyone else experienced sound quality problems with continuity calls made on a mac through a connected iPhone? On TELEPHONE calls made on my 2013 iMac through a connected iphone, the other callers always report that I sound terrible. They say it sounds like I am in a cave and that I sound extremely muffled, to the point where it is hard to understand me. I can hear them perfectly, though.

If I make a FaceTime call through the mac, the sound quality on both ends is spectacular - so I don't think its an issue with the built in mic on the mac.

Anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what may be causing this?

This is a well known problem that we're waiting to have resolved. It's one of those issues that Apple won't admit to yet. So big and powerful Apple can get away with putting us on hold, so we wait and wait. :)

This has been a real problem for me for a long time -- very frustrating indeed! I thought it was a problem with my setup (MacBook Pro Retina with Sennheiser USB Headset) but I have no problem at all when using Skype, so I know it has to do with FaceTime and/or "Continuity".

I am really amazed that this isn't a bigger deal in the media!

Sure hope they fix this soon.

Anytime I make a call on my MacBook using my iPhone I get a popping sound on the speakers, but if I use the iPhone itself it's fine. Has anyone experienced this?

Me too! Thank goodness! I thought my MBP was busted or something. It's worked a few times here and there but mostly not. Have you come across a fix or anything?

Nope. I noticed that when 10.10 first came out, i had no issues. it wasn't till 10.10.1 or 10.10.2 that i noticed the issue.

Yea was never on 10.10. I'm currently on 10.10.1. I downloaded the .2 update but haven't installed it yet. Not sure if I want to go to .2 or .3.

I noticed very bad sound quality with 10.10.2 but with .3 I have been using this feature without issue since it was released. Multiple hours of conference calls per day without using a headset has been great

Edited to add that this is with 8.3 on a 5s. 8.2 with 10.10.2 had the bad sound quality for me on a MacBook Pro
