Terrible Iphone 3GS service in NJ, anyone else

Ya i'm sure that's no news, but things have even gotten worse in the past 2 months. I have 1-2 bars where I used to have 3-4....
It really sux, because I love the phone, but what good is it if the service stinks.

Thoughts?
 
Yea, not surprising. I was told anecdotally that it will get worse before it gets better. Too many people using the same phone on the same network, I believe.
 
Im in central jersey and almost always have 5 bars, and get between 1000-1800 kbs download speeds. No complaints here.
 
I'm in Central and Northern NJ, and usually have 4 to 5 bars. No complaints here!
 
Tend to travel all over NJ here, and haven' had any issues. Service has been pretty good, actually.

I have been there actually - I live there. It's a big enough place that you can't say you have bad reception in the state and leave it at that. There is more than 2 cell towers.
