Hi Folks,

Is anyone up for testing these 128GB LRDimm memory modules?

I don't have access to Mac Pro 2019, and would be willing to post them to anyone in the UK

It does say that the 2019 supports LRDimms, however there seem to be two types of LRDimms, 3DS and Optane. These are Optane modules which only seem to be supported by Second Gen Xeon Gold CPUs, not sure if these modules in the W-3200 series of CPUs that the Mac Pro 2019 ships with.

I will attach a picture of the ram modules, hey are 2666Mhz as opposed to 2933Mhz, but system will either recognise and run at 2666Mhz or just not recognise at all.

Could be game changer if works as these modules are lot cheaper per GB then RDimms.

If anyone is interested in Testing these then please get in touch.

Kind Regards, Abdul

I think that means "this motherboard can support 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, AND the Intel® Xeon® W-32xx Processor..." but not making the Intel® Xeon® W-32xx Processor has DCPMM support like the 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors can do.

Just like USB 3.0 port support USB 2.0 devices, but not making a USB 2.0 device have USB 3.0 bandwidth.

Intel® Xeon® W-32xx Processor doesn't belongs to the 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, and 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors is required to run DCPMM (in fact, even 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, Silver and Bronze do not support DCPMM except 4125). Therefore, the 7,1 cannot use DCPMM.

Thanks for reply, that clears it up the matter.
