Hello,
This is my first post. Nearly two years ago I bought a brand new 2015 MacBook Pro (bought in Nov. 2015) directly from Apple. Sadly, I have a lemon - this 2015 Mac Book Pro experiences constant GPU crashes. Because the warranty has already expired I decided to buy another MBP. I bought a refurbished 2015 MBP from the Apple site. The laptop should arrive Tuesday, October 24, 2017. I plan to test the laptop within the 14 day return period to be absolutely certain that there is no hardware problem like I have with my current MBP. I also plan to purchase Apple Care to extend the warranty. However, I'd like to catch any problems within the first 14 days - especially a GPU issue like I have now.
Here is an example of a GPU crash
So, my question is this: What is a good stress test for a 2015 MacBook Pro?
I definitely plan to use Final Cut Pro X as much as possible on the new MBP (this causes my current MBP to have GPU crashes), but what else can I do/test?
Thanks for reading,
David
EDIT:
I should note something rather important. My current (now old) MacBook Pro passes all self-diagnostic tests (spent many hours with Apple testing) - yet will have severe GPU crashes - typically while running Final Cut Pro X. Therefore, the only test I can think of would be to use Final Cut Pro X a lot on the laptop I'm testing.
