Testing Hard Drive Read/Write Speeds

What is the standard tool to test your hard drives read/write speeds? I'd like to test my new SSD to see how fast it really is.

I've heard you cant trust XBench for that which is the only thing I have to use.

Awesome, thank you. What is the suggested file size and Video Frame rate that I should use? I'm assuming that affects the outcome?

Wow! So the larger file size you use and the larger video frame rate the better the result you get. I guess it puts your drive to work harder to see how fast it reall can be.

how do you know its smokin? it might be bad unless you compare to others
