Testing Mac Pro PSU

Hi

My father's early 2008 Mac Pro recently had a hard stop. Shut down dead, and now won't come back on.

All signs point to a faulty PSU. I followed the hint in this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1082046/ on testing the unused power block in the optical bay, and it didn't register anything.

I've pulled the PSU out, and before I go ahead and try and find a replacement, I wanted to test it. Problem is the 4 blocks of black cables look nothing like a "normal" 24 pin ATX connector...

So, can anyone point me in the right direction on how to test this with a multimeter?

If it helps, I found this: http://aquamac.proboards.com/thread/1032 which has a description of the blocks. I'm just not sure if I need to jump any of them.

thanks. I'm in the UK though. Have found a couple of places that will sell refurbished ones, but i just want to verify first that it's definitely the PSU hence the need to test the old one.

With the symptoms of the fault and diagnosis you have done already I would just replace the PSU. Odds on it being anything else i.e. the logic board/power switch are very small compared to the power pack packing up.
