Hey there!

I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and I'd love to try out a MacBook Air before I buy one for my wife ... question is, how? We only have like three Apple Stores in all of Canada (what the heck? More Apple, MORE!) and the nearest one is in Quebec.

As much as I'd love to drive fifteen hours to Quebec to try out a notebook, well ... I actually wouldn't love to. How would you recommend I test one out? Is there any retailers that would have them on display in Nova Scotia?

Cheers!

Well, have you by chance looked inside a phone book and tried to locate a store that sells computers? Seems only natural rather than asking here. Now I did manage to google your issue and found this nifty site http://www.apple.com/ca/buy. So happens that there they give you an option to find an authorized reseller nearby. So maybe try that, pick up the phone to call them and see if they have what you want in stock on display and then go there.

Find out if the Best Buy in Dartmouth has em. I've seen the air at all the Best Buy's in Ottawa so I would think the chain would have them nationwide.

Out here on the far left coast, there are several chains that sell and repair Apple systems. And only one Apple store. I actually prefer the chains over the Apple store for service. As suggested, check the phonebook, and then call them to see if they have an Air as a demo. Not all stores will have all models available to mess about with.

Have fun with it, eh?
