I recently completed a personal OpenGL game project, and have several testers lined up to assist me with the alpha and beta phases of testing. Unfortunately, none of them have macs with retina displays (nor do I), and I unfortunately have no way of knowing if rendering issues will arise (such as fonts and user interface elements, or the whole window, being rendered at incorrect sizes) when the game runs on retina macs. Because retina macs make up a large portion of my target audience, I need to identify some way to gain access to a machine to test it myself, or to find volunteers willing to do it for me. I imagine Apple store personnel would not take kindly to me walking in there with a USB stick and a foreign program. Any ideas on where I could find volunteers with appropriate hardware willing to assist with such a project? Would it be inappropriate for me to make such a request here?

I think you've come to the right place. I don't have a retina Mac either, but hope to get a new iMac in the near future. Maybe there's also a space somewhere on Steam - both the forums and their Greenlight feature?

Thanks, Confusius. To anyone willing to help, I want to clarify that this is not some kid's "me too" hacked together junk game. This is a multi-year project which has undergone extensive feature addition and refinement, and is now pretty close to being stable but needs a little bit of testing help from the community. I'll attach a few screenshots below.

The whole thing is open source. Anyone (again, I specifically need someone with a retina display) who wants to give it a whirl and help me out with some feedback is welcome to download it from https://github.com/macsforme/crucibleisland/releases/download/v1a1/CI1a1.zip. Again, I want to clarify that this project is in alpha status, and is not yet the final product.

Hi! I happen to have a rMBP lying around, and the skills to test stuff - being a game developer myself. I primarily work in Java though - but I won't let that stop me.

Happy to play around testing once my new 5k is delivered if that helps. On order with a delivery date of 11.14.14

So what would you like to know? Will it play? Yes.

Imac 5k with a 4gb card. Not sure what exactly you are looking for on specific feedback. Mouse is too sensitive. I found the arrows easier. The game escalates too fast for me. Played a few and never got about 9 for a score.

Anything else?
