iPhone Tether app

Legally, there is no way for you to do that.

And I don't understand why the fuzz over an app like that, doesn't the built-in "Mobile Hotspot" feature works?

You can't do that. There's no way, because there is no iPhone 5 Jailbreak. It's expensive, but it's easier just to use the Tether.com app. It's 30 bucks a year, but worth it.

And to reply to the next poster, Most mobile networks (ie- ATT) will revoke your unlimited plan, even if you pay for tethering.

I need an app like this because I am still grandfathered in to an unlimited data and text plan, in order to use the mobile hotspot you have to change your plan. I enjoy not having to worry about overages especially when tethering.

So $30 a year for the tether.com doesn't seem to bad.

Are there any other options out there?

Is there any way to download the file for an app with the easter egg tethering and install it through itunes as if I downloaded the app when it was in the store.
 
I might request a refund from Apple. I got ripped off by idownloadblog. The tethering only works on an ad-hoc network

How did idownloadblog rip you off? They only review the app.

Plus you bought it knowing you were going to illegally tether (I'm assuming you don't pay for tethering).

No there is no way to do that, that's what a jailbreak is for -.-

Idownloadblog should have put a big asterisk by tethering. This form of "tethering" only works on an ad-hoc network and therefore you can't use it with an iPad.

The bottom line is this app does not do what the heading of idownloadblog leads you to believe

Watch the video, it starts off by showing how to go into tether mode and then tells you to start an ad-hoc network.

Don't blame reviewers especially when they do a thorough review.

Also, not everyone tethers an iPhone to an iPad.

You said in post 8 that you no longer wanted this app because you can't use this with an iPad so you yourself obviously wanted it to tether with your iPad

I use tether me but bought this in the event that im some day forced into upgrading to an iPhone 5.

As soon as I saw the headline I went looking for this in the app store in a rush thinking this app might get pulled any minute and didn't bother watching the video. I watched the video later on and saw that I got conned.

That is exactly how they work. That is how they all work.

This most recent app? Ad-hoc.

The one before that? Ad-hoc.

And the one before that one? Ad-hoc.


FlashArmyKnife, iRandomizer, PayUpPunk, QuasiDisk, Rock Paper Scissors, etc - all Ad-hoc.

I have a folder full of pulled apps. All the "tethering" apps are web proxy apps that require an ad-hoc network. Creating an ad-hoc network is easy with a Windows or Mac OS X system.

I was talking about tether.com, it doesn't allow you to tether to the iPad.

Are you trying to say you seen the title on idownloadblog and instead of watching the review real quick you bought it and now are blaming them for being impulsive?

Verizon won't get rid of you if you're using it on their LTE network.

Sorry but I usually don't spend tons of time researching an app before I spend $1.99. It was an impulse buy.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not. You do agree it was an impulse buy, right?
 
I just went back and reread the article from idownloadblog. There is nothing in there to indicate that you can't connect to your iPad.
 
I am just hypothesizing here, and I do not own an iPad, but is it possible to set up the ad hoc network on a Mac, then connect the iPad through that network, either directly or by pairing the iPad to the Mac over Bluetooth?

Does it say you CAN tether with iPad? I guess not. So they are not liable for anything. It's your fault.

well you can sign ipas that arent supported without a jailbreak.. but yeah tether.com is great
