iPhone Tethered jailbreak question

Hey

I have a question, and can't really find the answer. How about I would update my iPhone 4 (5.1.1) to 6.0.1 Tethered. I know I need to rejailbreak it always on rebooting but my phone doens't reboot in like half a year lol.

But then when it's Tethered jailbreaked and i accidentally reboot it and don't have a computer with me. Could i still sms and call then? I know the Cydia apps won't work. But it's just the basic non-jailbreak things that still will work?

You can boot into a non-JB state and most stock apps will run - Safari is likely one exception.
