Tethering 3GS

I know this has been asked. I have looked around the forums and haven't found a solid answer. I have a 3GS jailbroken with 3.1 firmware. I used tethering with 3.0.1, but with the update it is no longer available. Has anyone been able to successfully get tethering to work with 3.1? I don't really need tethering, but I use it a decent amount and would like to be able to use it again

Everything I have read says it's a no go with 3.1

Native tether is a no go on 3.1 but using PdaNet works great.
