I recently used my iphone to tether. I got it through a download at help.benm.at/help.php I only used it several times for under 2 hours total. Well, now it seems my iphone is dropping calls like crazy! And not while I'm tethering, but all the time. My cousin has said the same thing since she's been tethering. Is it possible AT&T is doing this b/c I'm tethering? Does anyone know if this is related or has anyone experienced this same problem. Also when I downloaded that file, did I "hack" my iphone?

wait.... your using a hacked file on your phone... and now its not working properly.... ever think that maybe its the hack? maybe thats why AT&T hasn't released tethering yet? Maybe you need to be more patient and let them work out the issues...

People if your using a hacked operating sytem and it fails to work you really don't have any room to bitch about it.

If you can tether through your iPhone on AT&T now, you have already "hacked" your iPhone. I personally don't think AT&T has done anything to your phone or account in particular, but the possible outcomes of hacking your iPhone include instability including dropped calls and disconnected Wi-Fi. That may be all there is to it.

Tethering has been the same for me since my 3G and continues to work rather well w/o issue. AT&T posted my MMS data since my 3G, but nothing so far with regards to my tethering. My 3GS iPhone is working just fine.....

Are you using a 3G or EDGE connection? If your using EDGE, you will get dropped calls while transferring data in most markets. 3G can handle data + voice simultaneously.
