Can I use my iphone 4, 3G connection to tether to my apple TV and macbook por and then send music from my macbook to apple TV.
If so, how much data would this use? I have to 2GB data plan now and rarely go over 400MB. And IF i can use my phone to tether to apple TV, would it be fast enough to support streaming music?

thanks

I'm lacking WiFi, that's why I wondered if I could use phones 3G connection. Can't airplay to appleTV without WiFi

If you want to just send files from your ATV from your laptop just create a adhoc network on your laptop and connect the ATV.

Plenty of ways to do that - you wouldn't have internet access but it would play the files just fine.
