tethering via pdanet on unlocked 2g with tmobile

So my trial period of pdanet is over and I'm wondering how much faster the full version is over the http only version? Im not talking about using ichat or anything just pure speed of loading pages and watching videos? is it worth it to purchase the full version if Im using tmobile edge? thanks

I dont think it would be smart to load videos over tethering let alone tethering on edge.
