Tethering With T-Mobile?

I'm intrested in learning if anyone has been able to tether their edge network between a MB/MBP and their phone, via bluetooth or usb.

I havent tried it yet, but would like advice before I try.

If it matters I DO have a wireless internet plan.

Any help on this? I am looking to go back to T-mobile for my work phone, so I would be looking at a MS, Blackberry or Nokia Smartphone, but I would like to be able to tether it with my MB as well as with an XP laptop.

The recent solution for the Blackberry 8700 isn't the best option as I need to pay $4/month to use it or run my own proxy server.

I would be open to any solution that doesn't require monthly fee (above and beyond the data charges from T-mobile). USB or bluetooth, either way is fine.

I currently use my 7130c tethered with my XP (work) laptop and it very easily connects via USB. I have not had any luck getting it to work with the MB. I basically want to do the same thing on XP and OS X, but I am looking to move away from Cingular.

So does anyone know if it's possible to do this with a Blackberry Pearl with just the $20/month data charge for Blackberrys? That will determine if I get a Pearl w/Data or keep my w810i when I switch to T next month.
 
I do it with the Pearl over Bluetooth. It works well. I pay for the Blackberry service for data. It's my understanding that tethering is included in the Blackberry service, but don't sue me if I'm wrong.

Do you have any instructions or links to how you set up the tethering with the Pearl?

At this point, it look like I will be deciding between the Pearl and the Dash.

No problem.

Unfortunately, it will not work with the Dash because T-mobile removed the DUN (Dial-up Networking) Bluetooth Profile from the Dash. I used to have the MDA, and it worked flawlessly since the MDA had DUN. But now I also have the Dash which only supports PAN and Apple doesn't have support for this profile. Once I get my C2D MBP, I will be able to play with the settings and see if I can tether the Dash to it.
 
for got all about this, but using the $4.99 T-Zones Plan Works, for a good guide search for TheMacAce and HowardForums thats how I got it to work.
