So I disabled the "Change with Buttons" option to control my ringer/alert volume with the volume buttons. I either want it on or off, no in between, and I control it with the mute switch super easy. But sometimes the text alert volume decides it wants to be the same volume as the system volume. I have to open control center and turn the volume all the way up if I want to hear my text alerts.

Ringer volume never has this issue.

Anyone else seen this problem? I'd like to know if there's an easy fix before I think about wiping the phone and stuff.

Yes, and it's very annoying. Been this way for a bunch of iOS releases.

At this point, it seems Apple has no interest in fixing it, or just can't for some reason.

This bug has existed as long as I can remember, going back to even iOS 4 I think. I've given up all hope of it ever being fixed.

For this reason I always keep my volume turned up as a matter of course, especially if I'm waiting for an important call or message.

It seems to happen usually after I've been playing media. Sometimes I lock the phone and the lock sound is quiet when the volume is turned down, then normal again if I unlock and relock. Annoying.

Weird. This has never happened to me going back all the way to iPhone OS1. I have my ringer set to the loudest and have the change with buttons setting off. My system volume I change all the time. Has never affected my ringer volume.
