I have a new Macbook Pro M3 chip using Sonoma 14.5

Text Edit App has been discontinued. I have tons of old files unsupported now.

I need a recommendation for a similar app where I can copy and paste from emails and websites that have tons of graphics which I can remove. I downloaded Bean after researching, but it doesn't seem to do that.

Help is appreciated.

It's on the Sequoia beta, too.

I really, really wish Apple would refresh this app into a code / markdown editor. Basically Sublime Text in SwiftUI.

The macOS app is called "TextEditor" - if there's a 3rd party app called "Text Edit" I'm not familiar with it or what it does.

I’m using TextEdit right now (well, not quite right now but you know what I mean) and exporting from Pages to TextEdit because since I began having to use the current Pages and current Word for regular swapping of editorial content with others it’s been a real pain trying to get the hang of the various inconsistencies and anomalies. For years my older Pages and Word played nice and worked fairly seamlessly for me. Now, I run out of swear words sometimes. I haven’t time to troubleshoot the things that ought to work but don’t. Software ain’t what it used to be.

TextEdit is most definitely not discontinued, and still included with macOS. And Textedit saves in RTF files, which is one of the most well supported standards out there. You can download Pages for free on the App Store to open your RTF files, and get a much better app.
Thank You!!!! I found it. And I do have Pages. :)

Thank you, I found I it in my apps. I SO agree with you about the software situation now --- so time consuming!!!
