Anyone else not able to use Preview to enter text into a PDF?
Usually you can just click anywhere and a text entry field appears to let you start typing ..
What changed!?

Good riddance! That crappy UI caused so many unintentional file edits when you were trying to simply scroll.

I’ve never seen Preview behave that way. You have to go to Markup and then select the text tool first.

Of course we tried that, it has been working well in all computers we had the last 10 years but with the M1 it is not working. It is a very strange thing apparently, as I can only find very few people reporting the problem.

You might be the only one unable to enter text. Try it in another user account on the same machine.

It would be really weird to be a permissions problem, because I am able to modifiy the document but just not click & type as usual.

I'll check it tomorrow.

It could also be specific to a particular pdf that doesn't allow markup.
