Other Text message coming up on old phone?

I just got a text message come through on my X instead of my XS Max. I have been getting messages on the Max. What should I do? Turn it off? Remove the sim? if I wasnt at home I would have missed it and it was from my boss! Plus I dont want ATT to charge me for 2 phones! I obviously didnt transfer the old sim over to new phone. Thx

Are you planning on keeping the X. Restore the phone or sign out of your iCloud account.
