Text Message notification volume quiet

So just hopped to a iphone 16 PM from a 13PM and for some reason, my text message notifications just seem quieter. I can't seem to find a slider to adjust the volume, and when i've amplified them and rexported them from audacity to ithunes to the phone, there's no change. Is this a bug?
