Text Message Problem, texts do not appear in inbox

Iphone 2G on firmware 3.0.1. Unlocked and Jailbroken. Used RedSn0w.

problem;

My phone is locked. I get a text message. I do not check it right away, i just look at the preview of it but do not look at it.

i come back to my iphone later and unlock it but do not see on my homescreen that i have a message... and when i go into my inbox it doesn't show that i have a new text message...even though i know i have one..
i've tested this many times with no solution.

i've restarted the phone as well as re-setted it.. and the problem still remains.. does/did anyone have the same problem?

You most likely have some kind of fault in your firmware. The best ( most guaranteed ) solution would be to be a complete restore and set up as a new phone, don't restore from a backup. That'll replace the firmware with new, good firmware to ensure the fault is gone.

damn, that's exactly what i hope i didn't have to do.

but thanks for the tip. i wouldn't have thought to restore as a new phone.
