OK, I am newbie at the Iphone, just returned the STORM, and having trouble deleting text messages from the text main menu. Can someone help?

In the text message menu there should be a a button on the top left name "edit". Hit that and then little minus buttons should pop up next to your conversations. Hit that and then delete

Still doesn't work. I hit the edit button little minus icon appear. However when i return to the home screen and back to the text menu the messages are still their.
