My iPhone 6 has started pulling in all contacts from my Gmail account when I text message. The suggestive contacts includes my gmail contacts information. I have the gmail contacts turned off for the phone contacts. How do I get them turned off for the text messaging as well? Is there a way to remove these and keep them from coming back again?

iPhone 6, iOS 11.3.1

Settings > Accounts and Passwords > Gmail > Contacts should be turned off.

If it is, then your contacts have somehow already synchronised to another account you have enabled (iCloud? Or local) and you should delete them.

Thanks! That worked.
