Text & Pics

[In Utopia]

Trying to help an elderly neighbor out with her 5s running 8.1.2.
Problem is there are 4 of her relatives that try to sent text and pics, but the pics are not coming through to her, just the text. Myself and some others can send her text and pics and it works.
I've looked through her settings but don't see anything that might stop the pics including blocking.
Best we can remember, she was able to do so until about a week ago.

I'm running a 5s 8.1.2 also.

Gotta get this granny going again.

Tell them to email them to her instead.
If the mms picture messages come from some and not from others its a carrier issue that cannot be fixed on the phone.

It's not a carrier issue.
She's on TMobile and they are on AT&T. I'm on AT&T and I can send to her, but they can't.

Then it might be a problem on their end.
Not sure what to tell you.

is everyone using iPhones and iMessages???

an old wives tale states that only text messages are uniform, like from AT&T to tmobile. but mms messages can only be sent to the same carrier. and if you send them to a different carrier , the mms is supposed to be changed to a URL that the person clicks on

people can send pictures to each other on different carriers if they use iMessage.
but i heard a long time ago that you can't send MMS pictures between different carriers
but its supposed to work now so what gives

AT&T says they can send and receive to t-mobile , so i don't know how to help you either

turn off iMessage on both devices temporarily and see if the picture still goes through

reseed the sim card

turn off iPhone
eject sim
wait a few minutes
power on iPhone
wait for iPhone to get to home screen and say no sim
insert sim card

this might fix it, if it doesn't then i think you have to call the carrier

you can double check mms settings in settings, cellular data

the fact that you can send picture messages to your neighbor probably just means your iMessage is ok

Problem soved.......for now.
Person sending to her had iMessage turned off. Turned it on, all is good now.
