hi all

I always thought that any text replacement shortcut you setup would automatically appear on your other iOS devices. However, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Does anyone know when this feature was removed or if I am even remembering correctly that is was once there?

Many thanks.

M.

Have you enabled iCloud Drive? I don’t believe it was ever officially documented by Apple. Maybe they got rid of it. It never worked well anyway.

Is this the feature of typing "omw" and it would change to "on my way"?

I think mine is working across the cloud.

It's been completely hit and miss since the feature was first introduced. I have the exact opposite problem - some pesky shortcuts reappear every time there's a new iOS update. Syncing isn't reliable at all.

Mine have worked for quite a while now on both iOS and Mac OS.

My understanding is that it's driven via iCloud, so I would make sure you're using the same Apple ID on both devices. May not hurt to log out and back in on both devices to see if that improves syncing.

I just tested and was able to add, edit and delete these from both my phone and Mac, and the changes synced across both devices. It does take a few seconds for the sync to go through. I'm running GM of Sierra and 10.0.1.

This. I had setup keyboard shortcuts on OSX years ago to make taking class notes easier (app. to appellate, etc). Then when they suddenly showed up in iOS via sync and no matter how many times I delete them across all devices they always come back. It's somewhat-to-very annoying.
