just made the jump from Catalina to Monterey on my 27" 1019 iMac and the text and icons don't seem as sharp as they were (or are on my MBA running Monterey) .... is it just my eyes or is there an adjustment that needs some attention?

thanks

This article was written regarding blurry fonts in Mojave, but the terminal commands listed should still work in Monterey.

Be aware that there are FOUR possible settings (1, 2, 3, and 0).

You need to try ALL of them, observe carefully, and decide which is best for you.

BE AWARE that after you change a setting using terminal -- you have to log out and then log back in to "see the change"...

Reason why icons are blurry is SFSymbols, there were no changes in how text looks however, besides on how it is styled in various places (smaller text in menus, bigger bolder titlebar text, etc)

Thanks for the reply Fishrrman .... I may give it a try ... tbh although I've used Macs for 30 years I've never used terminal commands and I have this forboding sense that I could really mess something up lol.

I guess I'm just a little surprised that everything looks great on my Monterey M1 MBA and so 'soft' on a 5k retina display on my iMac. I didn't find posts that suggest this is a problem for others so ... was curious if I missed an 'adjustment' or something.

There's no need to be afraid of using these commands.
They're just "settings".
Just copy from the web page, and paste into terminal.
Then log out and log back in to SEE "the change".
If you don't like what one does, try the next one.

thanks man ... I was able to try the different options ... none of them seemed to be as sharp as I would like though.
