I purchased 2 (full) packs of extra Key caps at ebay, but the relevant keys are finished (I swapped many keys with the replacement 2 times already, they just fall off or get loose after a few months), I no longer have an spare "A/E/R/I/O/V/H/Fn" keycaps so started using other keys...

And my space key doesn't work half the time, my B/R keys press twice (even after changing the keycap and cleaning under it with air and using "Shaky" app), and the sound helps keeping my family awake at night.

So thank you Johnny Ive (for making everything thinner), Tim Cook, Apple Engineers and Designers for forcing me to think differently.

P.S. Changing keyboard/top case under repair program doesn't help, It's the same in a few months...

Big "oof" from me, and sorry to hear. Didn't Apple add the Macbook Pros to their Keyboard Replacement Program? I assume you adopted this strategy before their announcement of this?

Perhaps escalating this to a manager at an Apple Store, explaining your necessity to do this (for work and personal reasons) and reaching a compromise on repair cost in exchange for re-added eligibility to the program is the safest bet here... yeah it'll cost more money (and it's more money for Apple), but you'll get to blame Apple and get free repairs of the keyboard from now on if this works.

If I didn't have ~ €1500 worth of software on Mac, I would definitely buy a Dell XPS and install Ubuntu on it (as a perrsonal prefrence I hate Windows)

Thanks for the 2019 model video too, but I'm afraid I might have to buy the 2019 model if their claim of fixing the keyboard with new materials is true and I don't do heavy stuff that much... can't keep working like this (I'm a programmer, so I have to check if every key was pressed correctly)

Why don't you use an external keyboard? You could buy those slim ones that are quite cheap actually. Bit of a pain to carry around but better than spending thousands on yet another compromised machine?

That's actually doable because it will be cheap to try (even if it doesn't end up good)
But I can't sit too far from my laptop and add a keyboard to the front, so I just think it's better to buy the slimmest keyboard I can find and literally tape/glue it on Macbook's default keyboard firmly, while disabling the mac's default keyboard.

Too funny. Which model MBP is this happening to?

I just returned my 13" 2019 MBP. Had horizontal lines flashing across the screen from time to time. I don't trust this current generation at all.

I can vouch for the Apple magic keyboard. Mine has been going strong for years. I have the second generation. Never had a disconnect or issue of any kind.

Keep taking it back. Get an AppleCare number for the replacement incident. If it still fails after the 3rd repair, Apple will replace the machine. If the store balks, write a polite email to tcook@apple.com explaining your situation and providing your incident numbers and MacBook serial number.

You really shouldn't have to buy an external keyboard to use on few thousand dollar keyboard because Apple can't admit they screwed up. They need to check their ego and go back to what works, 4 years is too long to be still dealing with this crap.

Agreed. But if you already have bought one of these duds, what are you supposed to do? Apple, since the beginning, has been pulling this sh*t: replace a flawed product with another flawed product until a timer runs out. Replace a flawed graphic card with another flawed graphic card, replace a flawed keyboard with another flawed keyboard.

The only correct thing to do here is replace all the keyboards with the correct ones or replace the machines with redesigned machines. But Apple is getting away with it once again.
