Thank you God... For all the iMacs

All of a sudden, i am being rained with imacs... Very, very unbelievably cheap which one can only dream about ! ..that would explain a couple of my earlier threads about imacs...

So the situation i am facing arises as i am considering which one of the 21.5 imac should i rid....

Imac A is a late 2009 3.06ghz c2d with 8gb (1066 - at least thats wht i see, yet to confirm it) 1tb hdd with some visible marks on the body, which i cannt seem to rid ! Lastly i tried some Gin!

iMac B is 3.06ghz i3, with 4gb of 1333, 500gb hdd, with bootcamp- not that i cant install bootcamp in the other...just that it saves me the ride!

Logically i should be ridding the c2d, but the rams..... Can i fit the 1066 in the i3, as the minimum speed for i3 is 1333 (sourcing frm everymac). I dnt mind abt the hdd, but i am wanting to save the rams....

Will it be possible to use these 1066 in an i3 without issue.... Yeah true enough... I can upgrade the rams in the i3 with 1333s, but i am trying my luck...if i can get away with 1066s

You could try selling the 2009 iMac in the Lowyat forums, considering you're based in KL (I used to be based there too).

You can use 1066/1067MHz RAM in the 2010 iMac without any problems.

Hi, thx dude. So much slower speed rams will not bean issue....thats great.

I took a peek at the imac which had 1066 rams and i discovered that one of the rams was 1333 mixed with 1066s...i was glad. So i have fitted those rams in the 2010 imac, which is perfectly funtioning, though the details now show that i have 1067 rams instead of the 1333....i guess its due to the mixture....

Oh! U must hv been a local here...nice to hear frm u! True, low yat forum should help, though pricing in low yat forum is a no bull **** game... Cheers

Yeah sometimes stuff sold in WTS threads in lowyat forums are really 'potong leher' lol.

And yes, all RAM will run at 1067MHz, because of the mixture.

dude....i am looking at your reply after almost a year ... its nice to see the word "potong leher" in Mac Rumours.. ha ha
