I was shocked when I did a speedtest last night.

I bash iPhone but really, any phone could do this with the right chipset. This thread is just...blah.

The iPolice should be along any minute to tell you they don't need it. That 3g is plenty fast. That LTE is bad cause it drains your battery. Or any other compensatory excuse that they may make up for having woefully inadequate phones. :D

No, no, no.

They will say that the average user doesn't need it, because you know, the iPhone is only for the average user...

Lol at this whole thread.

You people are nuts. And obsessed. Just remember that the average adult has an iPhone and the average teenager has an Android.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I've got you beat on the upload, and that's with only one bar of signal :D

Rogers LTE with the HTC One XL. Never gotten above 40mbps but it's still WAY faster than my 4S has ever been.

You must have never seen or used my 4S before. Ping is fairly bad today as is upload. But the download is working about right. Don't forget that LTE is still a 3G technology. Only the marketing departments of carriers have stated it as being 4G.

Perhaps AT&T 4G, but Verizon LTE is independent of 3G spectrum.

Neither form of LTE meets the required paremeters for 4G. That being 100Mbps when moving at highway speeds and 1Gbps when stationary. Currently only Wi-Max and LTE-A meet this. Wi-Max is rarely used in mobile phones anymore and LTE-A is still in the development phase. AT&T and Verizon's LTE frequencies are different than those of their non-LTE signals.

Gosh no. PSU's WiFi always sucked at main campus. Hardly ever got more than 1Mbps on it. The satellite campuses usually had good speeds around 8-10Mbps though. That speed is far beyond the 4S' WiFi abilities.

That is damn quick lol..

How you getting on with the S3 & Mac combination? I quite fancy one myself - I managed to get 'EasyPhoneSync' from Samsung today which is supposed to allow transferring within iTunes and iPhoto but obviously don't have the device to try it!

Use iSyncr WiFi for all music and video playlist sync other than the protected content. And:

To have photos automatically DL to iPhoto:

PSU's WiFi network can't even go that fast. It's still a G network limited to 54Mbps. N is expected to be field tested at Hazelton next fall semester.

My god that is obscenely fast. We need more SoC's with a built in LTE radio like the S4 so this can be on all smartphones without affecting battery life.

Also, this is not an Android feature. My 3rd Gen iPad can do this too.

I see you can use google... U missed the part about even though those services do not meet the requirements of 4G they can still be considered 4G. So technically AT&Ts hspa meets the part about exceeding 3G standard. Interesting none the less.

HSPA+ can reach the required speeds, but the technology to do so is still in development just like LTE-A. Current HSPA+ does not meet the requirements and is still a 3G technology. The ITC does not recognize LTE or the current form of HSPA+ as a 4G technology. Only the carriers' marketing departments have incorrectly labeled it as such.
