Thank you to all those that helped me decide which lens would be best and where to go get it. I decided on the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 and couldn't be happier. The sharpness is dead on!

Amazing lens, huh. I just returned from South Africa on a safari shoot with it... absolutely amazing hunk o' glass.

I think every Nikon user over the last 25 years has wanted this lens. Each version is better than the last. Now if only I could find an extra kilo-buck under my sofa....

It is an amazing lens, I can't believe the clarity of it. Now combine that with me shooting most of my stuff in the RAW format and it's a beautiful thing.

And I hear you on the money aspect, I worked overtime A LOT at my day job and shot small jobs on the side and it's still taken a while.
