After 2 months of waiting for the new MBP its finally here. My Core Duo macbook has been suffering from RSS for months (random shutdowns). Apple has already replaced the logic board and heat sink but the problem remains. I've been waiting for the MBP for months so I can call up Apple Customer relations and demand an exchange for the MBP but I would pay the price between the two. Today I get home and I spill a vitamin water next to Macbook and it gets the Caps lock through F keys and down to the space bar and upper left side of the trackpad. I imediatly grabed a towel flipped my Macbook over and made sure I got all the water out! I think got a can of compressed air and shot out from the keys the remaining water I hope. Now I'm absoluty scared out of my mind because I was going to call Apple now to demand an exchange now I don't know what they will say if they find out I got vitamin water in it. I mean it seems like its all gone and the Macbook is running fine no problems but I'm worried if they do exchange if they will know that I may have water damage. I don't think I do but you never know. Any advice would be great as im panicing right now! I cleaned the keys so they arnt sticky and there seems to be no more water!

if it is working fine and there is no more water in it, you should be fine, but just to be sure leave it off and remove the battery for a day or two to allow it to dry.

It's usually pretty obvious when there's been liquid spilled inside a laptop, even if you got most or all of it out.

From your post, it seems this vitamin water is sticky? That's even more noticeable.

First off, I'd turn off the computer and disconect the battery for a couple of days just to be on the safe side.

Secondly, there is probably going to be some residue left over as VitaminWater™ has coloring, sweetner and added minerals/vitamins.

Since the computer has prior issues, it would help if you had some documented evidence (like a video or maybe look in the log files) that the RSS was continuing to be a problem before you had your accident with your VitaminWater™.

For the meantime, just turn off the computer and go chug some of this stuff (though not while in proximity with your computer) Picture 1.png
