Looks more like a Lightning effect than a flicker actually haha. These monitors are supposedly "flicker-free" at 4k and 60Hz.
This is an M1 Max Mac Studio with a pair of Dell U2720Q monitors each connected with their own Cable Matters USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cables. Nothing else is connected to these monitors. Upon waking from sleep the left one decided to put on a lightning show.
Putting the monitors to sleep wtih pmset displaysleepnow and waking them again did in fact correct this issue. I figure it was worth sharing this little quirk nonetheeless. This configuration has been pretty solid since I received the platform back in June. Maybe this is an effect of the recent 12.6 update. ¯\(ツ)/¯
