I think both Android and iOS users will be interested in this topic.

Everywhere on Internet people compare hardware specs (CPU speed, amount of memory, megapixels, etc), they compare pictures taken by different phones, but I didn't see anyone (or just didn't happen to find) comparing how they solve the actual problems on both platforms. Former heavy iPhone 5 user (yes, a year ago I thought that only iPhone can be better than iPhone and I had 3GS, 4 and 5) and now LG G3 user, I still have to use both platforms (iPhone for work, LG G3 for personal use, iPad and LG G Pad tablets at home).

So I want to suggest everyone to share your procedure of how you actually do something on your device. We can use this as an example:

Problem: create an album (to make photos organized) with your last 15 taken photos and share with your family

Device: LG G3

Platform: Android 4.4.2

Solution:
1) open "Gallery" app,
2) tap "Camera" section,
3) tap on "Share" icon,
4) select pictures,
5) tap on "Share" button,
6) choose Google+ (I mostly use G+ as a social network),
7) select who you share with (in my case I choose the "Family" circle),
8) tap "Create album",
9) put the name,
10) tap on "Share" icon.

Done.

Please use the form above - problem, device, platform with version number, solution so it's easier to read for others. You can reply to somebody's post and share how would you solve the same problem on your device.

These might be solutions for many as I know that some people don't even know what their phones can do . Let's roll?

Facetime and Hangouts

My daughter likes to Facetime both mom and me with her wifi only Mini iPad Retina. I just installed Google Hangouts on her iPad and on my Android so that her and I can now video chat. Daddy's little girl

As I am using all three platforms (iOS/OSX, Anroid and Windows) I use these apps every day:

Reminders:
- Wunderlist. Just the perfect app on all platforms, you can even share lists with your partner/friends/colleagues if necessary

Notes:
- Google Keep. For quick small notes.
- Evernote. For everything else

I use google contacts but the iCloud calendar. On android there's an app called "smooth sync for icloud calendar" that perfectly syncs your apple stuff with android. There's a contact sync app too from the same developer.

I'll use your same example - since my family members are all on iPhones, here's my process:

iPhone 6+
iOS 8.0.2

(1) Open 'photos' app
(2) Tap 'select'
(3) Tap last 15 photos
(4) Tap 'share sheet' icon
(5) Select 'iCloud Photo Sharing'
(6) Select 'New Shared Album'
(7) Name said album
(8) Select recipients
(9) Post

My family can contribute their own photos to this stream and we can all like and comment on the photos. I'm looking forward to this for when my wife and I have our first child.

So, if I recall correctly, you can use dropbox and the Automator to take things you save from your android device and automatically triage things as you see fit. For example, if you take a picture and have your phone make a copy in dropbox, you can tell the automator to check your dropbox folder for pictures and import them into iPhoto. There are some instructions around somewhere, but I found it useful with my android devices.
