The new 1-mm depth was achieved by integrating the photodetector into each pixel while incorporating scanning functionality for fingerprint authentication or barcode and business card scanning.

*All* OLED screens have the native capability of each pixel being a photodetector. Infact, they can also be used to detect some colors. It just needs to be built into the display controller.

I wonder how long before we start seeing this.
