Hey, just started this thread to predict when the 50 billionth app will be downloaded (the prize is $10000 in iTunes credit!).
Using Apple's app download ticker on its website, I calculated that the approximate time for the 50 billionth download is Tuesday, May 14 at 8:40 pm EST.
Of course, this is only an approximation since Apple's ticker animation probably isn't 100% accurate; we don't know how Apple actually chooses the 50 billionth app download (can they really track it?); and, the rate of downloads will increase as we get closer to 50 billion.
With that being said, I'd predict... sometime on Tuesday
Also, what would you do with $10000 in iTunes credit?
