Sometimes when I'm using my macbook the cursor will disappear. Its not like I just can't see it but it actually isn't there anymore. Moving my finger on the trackpad doesn't work to get it back either. I have to keep it moving for a few seconds to get it back. Is this normal? Its not particularly annoying but I'd rather it didn't do it.

Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. It's one of those little things about OS X that make it all the more great. Scroll around in Safari with the arrow keys and you'll notice the cursor disappear.

Some researchers at NASA found the reason of why the mouse pointer moves when you don't move it. It is amazing and worth viewing it.

I lose my cursor quite a bit on my Mac Pro with 30" ACD. Sometimes the pointer changes to the text cursor, the one that looks like letter I, and it's very hard to see on a screen of that resolution - so that's what I put it down to. It's quite possible that it disappears completely for a moment, but it's also possible that it just gets stuck on the text cursor and I can't see it until I move it around.

It doesn't bother me. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like Apple to fix it, though.
