Mac OS Catalina, application is NC2xManager, to manage sounds in a keyboard.
I've checked, the application is 64 bit, so that can't be it.

I get the message :
The application NC2xManager cannot be opened. I can only click OK, nothing else.

In security settings, I've selected apps from Apple and identified developers...

Anyone ?

I don't get any of those messages on the support forum.
Just a small window saying "The application NC2xManager cannot be opened." That's it.

Already tried ctrl-clicking the app and selecting Open, doesn't change a thing...

Hmmm...

Have you looked at the console messages, to see if the launch of the program is generating errors?

Can see that maybe a required piece got pushed to the "obsolete" folder that gets generated at upgrade time (that folder on the desktop). Or, the program requires a system library that has changed or no longer exists, so, developer would need to update it to newest library bindings.

Have you tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling?

No installer, just downloaded the app, unzipped it and put it in the Applications folder...

Guess the app needs an update. It's a sound manager for a Studiologic keyboard, in order to load new sounds into the board. It's a budget board and haven't bought it yet, wanted to make sure the software works first...
Apparently, Nord, a company that makes keyboards and digital pianos (but unlike Studiologic, Nord boards are very expensive), also has a Sound Manager that recently got updated to 64-bit but doesn't run all that well on Catalina, either.

On another note : I've got Catalina on my Macbook Pro, my iMac is still running Mojave and on that machine, I have no problems with the app...
I'm starting to regret upgrading to Catalina.

Same here. Since upgrading to Catalina, I cannot open any application (such as Safari, Mail or any 3rd party app) after some time. Need to open everything right after login. I did not see any syslog message during the failed startup. Workaround is to reboot :-(

Worst OSX update since I started with Mac in 2003

After downloading the zip file, open Terminal and type:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine
followed by a space

Then drag your zip file into the Terminal window, drop it behind the space. Hit Return.
Should take a few seconds only.
Then unzip and try launching your app.

Best of luck !
