Last January, I consulted with Apple Support staff and they ran a diagnostic test. They told me that the battery life on my iPad is 77%. At that time, I was thinking I can change the battery. However, I was held off and I didn't.
This August, I consulted with them again. Surprisingly and unexpectedly, the battery life went up to 88%. This couldn't have happned. And the battery recylce time is 990.
And they refuse to change the battery for me because the battery life is above 80%.
I know this sounds like conspiracy theory. I am suspecting that Apple has changed the algorithm so that they don't have to cover all battery service as they promised.

Very disturbing but possible sic
Was your iPad coverage still good then?

This is a guess, but it could be that their software just estimates the battery life. Try going there a 3rd time to see what the number is. It could become 81% or something.

Have you updated iPadOS since in between the measurements? Then I would guess it's an update to the BMS or new algorithm or similar that has caused this.
Did you the iPad brand new and never change battery on it? Just thinking if its an original battery in it.
