I was very dissatisfied when I first started looking at the iPhone 4 pay as you go deals, mainly at the internet allowances. I'm currently on the last month of my 12 months unlimited free internet from O2, after which I have to top up every month to keep getting it. This is fine, of course, as I knew that'd be the case from the beginning. But O2 now no longer offer free internet on PAYG at all with the iPhone 4! So, I started looking around, since the exclusivity deal is well and truly over and all the other networks were starting to stock the iPhone 4, PAYG included.

In terms of internet allowances, the best network is actually Tesco Mobile! Ironcially, they're a virtual network running off of O2, but they give you 1GB free internet a month for 12 months.

How do the other networks size up? Orange give you 250MB, as do Vodafone. T-Mobile and Three have yet to release it on PAYG. Only problem is, Tesco Mobile haven't released it yet, either, so you'll have to wait until they decide to do so.

When it comes to texting and calls, they're all pretty much the same. You get to choose plans which let you have a certain amount of free texts or minutes, usually £10 gets you 300 free texts for example.

All of these networks, however, sell the phone itself £20 cheaper than a SIM free one from Apple for both the 16 and 32GB.

Anyway, hope this was actually useful to someone!
