Hi. I just bought the new mac mini to use it as a media center. Today I found out that my two pc remotes wont work with OSX, so I need to buy a new one. Right now the only two options I've heard are the apple remote and a Harmony one. I havent tried any of them.

Which remote is the best one for the Mini? I want to be able to use it with OSX and with Windows 7 in Bootcamp. I want a remote thats able to control everything, from volume to opening an closing apps.

Thanks!

Yeah, I have the ipod touch but I dont like the idea of a tactile remote. To me its rather uncomfortable. I prefer a classic remote.

I have the Harmony One (as well as its little brother, the Harmony 620). The beauty of the harmony is that it combines several remotes into one package so, for example, when you watch a movie (its task-based, not device-based), the volume controls the amplifier or TV but the FFW and REW are sent to the mini. You can customize the remotes to allow the buttons to do anything a separate remote would do. Remote Buddy will let you control various apps and you can even create custom buttons on the touch screen. The Apple remote has the virtue of simplicity. It runs out of the box and does most of the basic functions but if you want to control more than one device, you will need more than one remote.

The One and 620 have the best buttons on Harmony's from what I have seen. You can change channels and volume just by feeling the buttons. Useful in a dark room.
