I still dont understand how developers that already worked on arm versions for the mac for years and years, cannot be ready for the arm windows version and still deliver sub par, and trash experience
And still, there is arm windows since RT..

I listened the video while driving the car and it’s hilarious! 😝

All I use parallels for is Windows network administration, I give the VM 16 GB and it is plenty for what I do. I'm on a machine with 64 GB.

In a pinch 8GB is "enough" it depends on what you need to do inside of windows.

If you need to do 3d work inside the Windows VM - probably not suitable.

What's your use case?
I tested Parallel's lifetime-version with 8 GB and Pro version. I have to say that 8 GB ram is not enough in my case, and I/O limitation is making Windows slow. So I have to pay a hundred in a year to get what I want.

Now I run Windows with 32 GB ram and it seems that less would be enough in my case. Mac has 10 GB free ram now.

Another case is finding key combinations not to get on the MacOS side constantly. (I use cmd/ctrl+ tab a-lot)

I am still in the middle of what to do. Thanks to Trump I am thinking also if the prices will explode and I should invest in a new Mac immediately.

I'm in real need of a Windows laptop that’s a true powerhouse. I've been searching for the best possible alternative to the MacBook Pro M4 Max, but it feels like mission impossible.

Here are some interesting Windows laptops I've come across:
  • Dell XPS 16 OLED
    • RAM is limited to 32GB in the EU (except the UK)... seriously, why?
  • ThinkPad P16 Gen 2
    • Supports up to 198GB RAM, 8TB SSD (RAID), and an Nvidia RTX 5000 Ada Mobile GPU, Oled.
    • However, it suffers from overheating, crashes, and a keyboard that heats up uncomfortably.
  • HP ZBook Fury
    • 128 GB RAM, 16TB SSD
    • Powerful but plagued by fan noise and overheating issues.
I’m looking for a silent powerhouse with plenty of memory and an OLED display. Any suggestions?
Have a Lenovo P1 Gen 7 for work, heavy Autodesk CAD work and editing architectural images from a GFX100, 100mp files. Decent spec…Intel 155h, 64gb lpcaml2, 2x 4tb 990 pros, RTx4060.. Don’t quite recommend it tho… it’s a low power chip and files too low.. The older Gen 6 was better but a lot heavier. Wait and see what the Ultra 2 refresh has in stock. Eg: the HX chips. Has been a lot of teething issues. The only one released to date will be the MSI Titan series. They look insanely heavy. Otherwise clearance Lenovo Legions with 4070 upwards. There is a cheap brand here in Australia called Predator. Not sure on reliability of the motherboard. Lenovo are due for refresh around July.
