How can i make the thoroughest clean/wipe of my MacBook/PowerBook hard drive? I dont want m personal data/files be retrieved from the next user. Is there a way to do this without needing to reinstall the OS?

If you are planning on selling the computers it is best to do a erase and reinstall of the OS. Depending on which macOS you are running, when you erase the drive you can specify to erase by writing zeros one or more times on the drive to ensure that all data is erased. This is only useful for computers that have a spinner drive, SSD drives don’t need to do that kind of erase.

Its an old G4 PowerBook that uses a spinner HD... but how do i do a zeros writing erase?
