I Think the highest brightness can make your eyes bleed. Its soooo Bright.
 
Ah, so now they have an official "it's dark in your room, so have a low light" and a "its bright in this sun, have lots of light" setting?

Thats nice.

I'll have to check in a really dark room... but it is REALLY dim at lowest brightness. Chances are good Apple used that to gauge their 6 hour battery life ;)
 
Hey guys.

Can any of you compare the brightness of the new screens with say a current mb or a previous mbp? Apple claims that the user shouldn't see any difference in brightness, but that it has more to do with color saturation...

If you set aside your new gadget joy and take an objective look at it. Is it a whole lotta brighter?

Of course. The screen tech didn't change, just the backlight [CCFL to LED]. Backlights don't have any effect on the physical pixels, which are what 'stick' ;)
 
Has anyone experienced a slight dimming on one side of the screen and not the other.

I mean, when I look at the screen, the right side of my MacBook Pro's 15" screen appears to be slightly darker than the left at full brightness setting.

I just noticed this earlier this week, I have had the MBP for about a year.

Maybe this is post is in the wrong place, sorry if so.

That's what we call uneven illumination - they're all like that and it just took you a year to notice!

I noticed that too. That's why I returned the first MBP 15" LED. Right side was darker than the left. The guy at the Apple store also saw it and let me return it. Second one was swapped already too because of the flickering and yellow issue. (First one had no flickering but did have the yellow issue).

Yah, I didnt notice it until now. I'm usually in a pretty dark room where the screen appears blindingly bright, but now that I'm in an office working for the summer I noticed that the Right is dimmer.

So its not a problem that develops, it came from Apple like that?

Did all the 15" MBP's come like that?
