Hi Folks..
Happy New Year Everyone!
Like a zillion others, I started a new photography blog for 2010:
http://marksmusings555.blogspot.com/
I will posting mostly my experiences with the 7D as the 7D is my primary body. Feel free to follow me and contribute comments.
My website will be getting a revision as well as Zenfolio does a major upgrade here soon. http://galloimages.zenfolio.com/
All the sandhill crane images on my website were with the 7D and the 500 f4+1.4X TC.

thanks guys for the comments. The Canon 7D is , in my experience, a great camera body. The best I have owned. I have the 40D and 50D as well.

It's 8 fps is ideal for BIF/ other wildlife action. The new AF system is superb!
My "in focus" BIF rate is 90% or better! I would highly recommend it!

Where are you finding the cranes? Nice shot by the way.

The Cranes were at the Jasper-Pulaski Wildlife Area in NW Indiana. The start migrating there from the North early November each year and around Thanksgiving the numbers reach 10,000-13,000 cranes concentrated in a field... My photography group, MPEG http://www.thempegforums.com/ plan a GroupShoot there every year
the weekend before Thanksgiving. There were taken Nov 2009.

Thanks for the info on the 7D. This thread is really making me want to buy a new camera. I'll probably buy a new one around may and then begin trying to take photos like these.

I've had the 7D since the day it was released and it's the best camera I have used. I use it for both video and images and it truly is amazing for both!

If you wanna see some pictures I took from all over the US, check them out on my site:

I'm ordering a macro lens soon which I can not wait for!

I couldn't agree more. I am "in love" with the Canon 7D. Great wildlife camera!
